What is Virtual Therapy?
Virtual therapy is the use of video to exchange medical information and provide therapy services to patients wherever they are. Our goal is to connect patients to their physical therapist in a way that is most convenient for them.
Is this like Telehealth?
Yes, our team uses online video to help our patients through self monitoring home exercise and patient education while providing a live, online program to strengthen and increase function.
Does a patient have to meet with a provider in-person before a visit can be conducted via video?
This is determined on a state-by-state basis. Our team will work with each patient to ensure all requirements are met.
Are you treating Workers’ Comp patients?
Yes! You can send your injured workers through your standard referral channels such as phone, fax, and referral portals.
Will Results take my insurance?
Yes, you may file to your insurance. However, not all insurances currently reimburse for Virtual Therapy. If your insurance does not cover the costs, you will owe $75 for your visit.
What about Medicare?
Our priority is to take care of our patients. We are working with payers to ensure that our patients are not additionally billed for our services.
How much is it if I pay out of pocket?
A Virtual Therapy appointment will cost $75 for each visit.
Is this secure?
Our platform is HIPAA compliant and stores all PHI on our own encrypted servers. All patient and physical therapist communication occurs within our secure portal. We will never share information without your consent first.
What do I need for my appointment?
To prepare for your appointment, you will need to utilize a phone/computer that has Wifi or data capabilities. Make sure that your camera and microphone are enabled and have a place to set your phone/computer- so we can see you.
How can I improve video quality?
1. Restart your computer: restart your computer before your first call.
2. Wifi: be close to your wifi router, make sure no other parties on the network are usingup the bandwidth, and you don’t have a lot of browser windows open.If you continue to have issues with your phone, we recommend you updating the settings on your phone. You can follow these steps to update.
Do I need equipment?
You do not need any additional equipment, but we do recommend you wear tennis shoes and position yourself in a well-lit, open and safe area.
Is this safe?
Our therapists will screen all of our patients during the first appointment to verify if Virtual Therapy is the right option or if it is more appropriate to perform in the clinic.
How is this different from a regular physical therapy appointments?
These appointments provide you the convenience of receiving physical therapy from the comfort of your home. However, we will not be able to provide in-person services such as dry needling, e-stim, etc.
